Arkansas - Home Inspection

Home Inspections were worthless to me


How do you find a reputable home inspector in Arkansas? What do home inspectors include in their reports? Whose side they are on...what findings will they report? Who is reposible for fixing the deficiencies in the home being sold?

When I purchased my home, I paid for a complete home inspection - not just the skim the surface report. He gave us a great report, no problems. Well, within the first year, we found mold that the previous owners failed to mention, and the whole house fan in the attic stopped working. The dishwasher broke down, the dryer vent clogged up and a bunch of other stuff. I know this seems silly, but shouldn't he at least have caught the mold so they would have to do something?
